Film lesson: "Mountains of the Moon"

The Europeans had some hardships while traveling through Africa. Well first they were traveling by foot. Another was that they were losing some supplies like food and water. Some of them didn't survive the explore. Some of them got infected by the water they drank. It was pretty strange that one of the world's largest lake in the world the Nile River(Lake Victoria) was named after the British Queen. The Africans took advantage over the Europeans because they had a gun. Europeans were able to conquer Africa so easily.

Europeans had influenced many of the other countries like America, China, Middle East, Africa, Australia, Eastern America etc. I learned that England took over places in Canada. Spain and Portugal attained land in the Caribbean. Europeans are the one that conquered the most. Many people like in South America and Spain speaks Spanish now.

Karl Marx and Communism

Communism is a worldwide society. It is a form of gonernment made by Karl Marx and Fredrick Engels. Communism is when all people should be equal. Meaning that private property, resources like plants, factories, oil, coal etc. should be owned in common by the people. Marx's ideas was that workers should be in control of factories and farms than landlords. There are more workers than landlords. He wants all the workers in the world to start a revolution. Karl Marx wanted communism to be taken over the world because he didn't like the fact that workers were working in factories very harsh and unsafe. After Marx died, communism didn't really take over because of the government. They didn't want communism stories written in newspaper or any criticizing about the government. Mongolia became the second nation of communism. Afteer WWII, many governments were overthrown.

Copernicus and the trail of Galileo

One of the theories of the solar system is geocentric. The geocentric model is a theory that Earth was the center of the universe and everything goes around it. The geocentric theory came first. This theory was used up till the 16th century. The Greek Astronomy and the philosophy is part of the geocentric model.

Another theory of the solar system was the heliocentric theory. This theory is the opposite of the geocentric theory. The heliocentric model is a theory that the sun is the center of the universe and that everything orbits it. This theory is true and is still used today.

Galileo was put on trail in 1963 by the Catholic church for believing that the Earth was the center of the universe and has put it on the book called Letters on the Solar Spots. He was put in trial because the Catholic Church believed in the geocentric theory while he believed in the heliocentric theory, which is going against the church's believe.

John Locke and "The Enlightenment"

The rights that Jefferson was talking about was that everyone(including men) should be created equally. Meaning that we all have the rights to have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. According to the Declaration of Independence, the government gets it's power from the people. We decide who should be the government by voting. We the people also have the power to overthrow the government if we feel is right. Although the people must also have a better reason to why go against our government when the government is used to protect our rights.

Scientific Revolution: The Scientific Method

Scientific method to me is like answers to all scientific questions. Questions like heavy objects fall faster than light objects or bigger objects will sink in water. Scientists use scientific method when they start to do experiments. That is so when using scientific method to experiment people will start to believe them. Scientific method is to find proof of one thing that people has questions about instead of predicting them. The scientific method really helps it's a way that people experiment everything and observing new things. People keeps on asking that why is te universe keeps on changing? Well it hasn't they are the same. It's all proved when scientific does another experiment and it ends up as true. When something is true to the world that means it has been experimented and agrees with the experimental evidence.

Evolution vs. Creation

The theory for evolution is more about how life is related. For instance, plants, animals, and foods. The development from life to non-life. The change in the genetic pool from generation to generation by processes like mutation and natural selection. Evolution to me is like how people, animals and plants keeps changing and growing. It is more like how some people are similar and yet different to each other. Like how some people are smarter than other. How some people are taller than others. Same goes to plants and animals. Natural selection is the cause for evolution. It takes the abnormal making it to survive the environment to normal. Like how men use to be monkeys now different and yet some how similar to animals.
Th theory for creation is more about beliefs. How the world was created, the universe was made, and life by some supernatural. Not everyone believe in the supernatural such as this. Creation is part of religious beliefs. In alot of countries not everyone believe in the same theory as others. Creation is about god and the the creation of the world. Some people believe in more than one god some people believe in one god and some people don't believe in god. It is part of religious beliefs.
I believe in creation because I believe in god and I believe that he created the world and made peace. I believe that god is the one who created everything in the world, the universe, and humans. Creation is part of religious beliefs and in my religion i believe in one god who created life.
